Position : Customer Service Executive

The Customer Service Executive supports internal and and external clients by functioning as the liaisons between the company and our customers. The role is responsible for driving relations with clients, identifying and resolving issues, and managing the interaction between us and our customers.

This is a pivotal role to the success of the company and reoports directly to the management team.

This position is based at our Head Office in Nairobi.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the face of the company by actively engaging with both current and potential customers on phone and one-on-one.
  • Actively resolve customer complaints by identifying problem areas and providing practical solutions. De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied customers, offering patient assistance and support
  • Liaise with clients to schedule maintenance and repairs; follow up to ensure that all scheduled appointments are satisfactorily closed.
  • Review client accounts to providing updates and information about billing, shipping, warranties, and other evolving items
  • Anticipate customer needs, following up with previous customers to offer reorders or additional services
  • Ensure retention of current customers through active and on-going engagement, account support and relationship management.
  • Recruit and on-board new clients through aggressive sales and marketing efforts including cold calls and emails, targeted messaging, social media, and client visits.
  • Canvass for new business opportunities through participation in tendering processes and actively pursuing referrals.
  • Build strong networks to serve as reference points for the company. Manage the success story by providing a consistent level of customer service.
  • Build and manage an accurate and up-to-date database of service dates to ensure timely periodic subscriptions and renewals monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Support the Finance function in timely billing and collection of invoices. Ensure that credit limits and payment terms are adhered to by building strong relationships with client finance teams.
  • Support the sales and marketing teams in new product launches and line extensions by providing entry contacts and making the initial client approach.

    ESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES

    • The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player with a can-do attitude.
    • Possess the ability to quickly learn the company’s operating routines as well as to understand multiple product lines
    • Possess an indefatigable spirit and cheerful personality; comfortable working in fast-paced environments
    • Possess the ability to follow communication “scripts” when handling different product and service lines
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and active listening skills. Fluency in English and Swahili is a strong advantage.
    • Well- developed interpersonal and rapport building skills
    • A patient and empathetic attitude
    • Strong time management and organisational skills
    • Ability to work with computer programmes including worksheets, and strong presentation skills.
    • Phone skills, including familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in customers service within a fast- paced environment
    • Possess a degree or advanced diploma in Sales/ Marketing/ Customer Service or related field.
    • Demonstrated success in customer recruitment and management, sales conversions, and database administration.
    • Experience in the Automotive, Transport, Fleet management, IT or Logistics sectors is highly desirable.
