Position : Project Officer – EntrepreneurshipWe are looking for a Project Officer – Entrepreneurship to join our client team.
- Ensure the beneficiaries of the 2Inuane project develop a strong and innovative entrepreneurial culture.
- Effectively deliver Entrepreneurship training and key content to ensure trainees gain skills in business idea generation, business planning, start-up and growth management, and long-term business.
- Responsible for ensuring effective quality program implementation through work planning, technical support, strategic engagement, coordination (internal and external), and partner capacity building & support.
- Map, assess, and document all trainees with entrepreneurial potential, including those who are already running IGAs. Provide them with the additional support they need to develop their enterprises into long-term success.
- Keep records of entrepreneurial ideas, business plans, and activities of youth participating in the program.
- Conduct planning and coordination of meetings, events, and program activities with partners; including developing training schedules, and managing Entrepreneurship guests and speakers’ appointments.
- Develop and maintain a contact list of local businesses committed to mentoring entrepreneurship program participants in their chosen areas of business.
- Ensure that 20% of program participants produce business ideas (including green business ideas) and start their own sustainable micro and small businesses during and after their course.
- Participate in the vetting of beneficiaries of start-up kits and monitor the usage of distributed kits, including documenting impact.
- Following up on the established businesses for necessary support and documentation of progress.
- Prepare departmental monthly, quarterly, and yearly project progress reports in line with GIZ guidelines on reporting.
- Identify opportunities for improvement of working methods and procedures
- Maintain relevant network contacts and represent the organization accordingly to partners, and guide collaborative processes with internal and external stakeholders in the context of the project.
- Coordinate the activities of assigned consultants for specific tasks, such as training, evaluations, curriculum review, and documentation.
- Work in close collaboration with the Programs Manager to monitor and report on the project progress.
- Support the Programs Manager in identifying project development opportunities aligned with Lifeskills Promoters’ strategic interests, and share project ideas for further development into concept notes and proposals.
- Represent 2Inuane Project in critical spaces to increase visibility and credibility with donors and other external stakeholders ensuring we continue to claim our role as an expert organization in our thematic areas.

- Evidence of strong organization, interpersonal and communications skills, and working relationships with others, both internal and external; demonstrated responsive and professional attitude.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the opportunities in the green economy, and green business practices.
- Ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize and coordinate tasks to achieve goals in a timely and efficient manner.
- Excellent documentation, Writing, and reporting experience.
- Passionate about economic strengthening and youth programming.
- Relationship building and networking skills.
- Willing and able to travel locally within the project catchment area.
- Proficiency in interacting with and using digital technologies, the Internet, and social media for Entrepreneurship.
- Proficient in General Office software: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.]
Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum three (3) years’ supervisory experience coordinating an Entrepreneurship development program targeting vulnerable youth.
- Start-up business knowledge and experience is preferred, particularly experience working with an entrepreneurial support organization (ESO) targeting youth in Kenya.
- Practical business/professional experience and knowledge of GoK SME support opportunities for youth-owned/led businesses.
