Position : Therapy Assistant - Patient Assistance Program

Job Summary

InBurst Corporate Ltd intends to facilitate a patient assistance program/ value added service (“PAP Programme”) for patients with chronic illnesses, the objective of which is to offer psychological support and improve therapy adherence, and thus better patient outcomes. The services can be clustered into the following categories:

  • Reminder services on adherence to prescribed treatment plan
  • Counselling and psychosocial support services
  • Educating patient and family members
  • Periodic follow-up on patients:
    • Face to Face (to the extent possible)
    • Telephone calls
Required profile for job ad : Therapy Assistant - Patient Assistance Program

Job Responsibilities:

  • Patients’ home visits on need basis
  • Telephone support through a daytime call centre.
  • The interaction with the patient would be on the below mentioned subjects:
    • Need to get their diagnostics tests performed regularly
    • Need to visit their HCP regularly
    • Enquire about their general well being
    • Enquire whether the patients can get their medicines easily
    • Enquire about their enrolment in the medicines and diagnostics assistance program and if not enrolled , try to do a spot enrolment
    • Enquire about the patients ease of access to assistance program (Medicine and diagnostics)
    • Handover any patient education material – Print/Digital
    • Periodic follow-up of patients  (help patients in documents submission , Home visits to patients, Outstation patients will be managed by call , Maintaining record of patients purchases and follow-up  for next cycle)
  • All patients assigned to the Therapy Assistant would be given once a month F2F /telephonic visits
  • The Therapy Assistant would record drop out details of the patient along with reasons for the same.
  • Call centre management roles:
    • Receives all calls from clients in effective, professional and caring manner
    • Understands the need of the caller and responds appropriately and in caring manner.
    • Provides all information that required by the caller with regard to the PAP Programme
    • Develops and maintains a friendly conversation with caller and keep the client’s information confidential.
    • Provides individualized customer service of high-standard professional level

Qualifications:

Education: Dip or BSc in Nursing.

Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in any of the following work environments:

  • Busy inpatient facility
  • Counselling roles in a healthcare facility
  • Palliative care roles
  • Geriatric care centre
  • Any work environments with similar roles to the above

Skills, Attitudes and Attributes

  • Ability to understand as well as grasp basic patient’s concerns.
  • Ability and patience to cope up with difficult clients situations.
  • Capacity and knowledge to analyze the patient’s problem properly and provide sound advice.
  • Good communication, patient service, interpersonal and basic computer skills.
  • High oral and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Understanding of the issues surrounding provision of chronic health care services
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills – both oral and written

Duty Station: Nairobi, with travels to rest of Kenya on need basis.

Employment Terms: 6 months contract (renewable).

Salary: As per company’s salary scale.
